Lyndon Kuryvial, a 17-year-old student at St. Mary’s School in Taber, Alberta, has been involved in golf for practically his entire life. As a baby, he spent countless hours on the golf course in a car seat while his parents played, and by the time he could walk, he was swinging a golf club. The passion he developed early on laid the foundation for an impressive junior golf career, which has led him to sign with the Danville Jaguars in Illinois for his first college season this fall.

Lyndon's formal competitive journey began at the age of 8 on the Maple Leaf Mini Tour. In his very first tournament at Nanton Golf Club, he shot an impressive 88 and secured a 2nd-place finish. From that moment forward, his commitment to the sport deepened.

By the time he reached 13 years old, he already had his sights set on playing college golf. This ambition fueled countless practice sessions and tournaments, all while juggling academic responsibilities and part-time work.

Notable Tournament Achievements

Over the years, Lyndon has continued to refine his skills, earning spots in prestigious competitions and posting strong finishes. Some of his highlights include:

  • Multiple MJT National Championship Qualifications (2020, 2022, 2024)

  • Qualification for the IMG Junior World (2022) in San Diego, California

  • Qualification for the World Star Junior Golf Championship (2024) in Las Vegas

  • Qualifying for and making the cut at the Alberta Open (2024)

  • Winning the ASAA 1A/2A South Zones as both an Individual and with his team

  • 2nd Place Finish at MJT Paradise Canyon Golf Resort (2024), narrowly missing first in a 3-hole playoff

  • 3rd Place Finish at the MJT Major (2024)

  • Victory at the MJT Major at Elmwood Golf Club in Swift Current (2022), emerging triumphant after a 5-hole playoff

  • Winning the MJT Turney Valley (2022)

  • 2nd Place Finish in the Taber Golf Club Championship, posting rounds of 72 and 73

The Next Step: College Golf

On November 1, Lyndon took a major stride toward his dream by signing with the Danville Jaguars in Danville, Illinois. In August, he will officially join their golf team and begin working toward an Associate’s Degree in Business. He plans to complete this two-year degree and then transfer to a university to finish his education—all while continuing to compete at the collegiate level.
