Following a strong showing at the MJT FCG Worlds Qualifier presented by Forge Golf Academy at Paradise Canyon Golf Resort—our junior athletes at Matsons Junior Golf Academy continued their impressive momentum with two more challenging tournament stops on the 2025 Maple Leaf Junior Tour.

The second stop brought us to Wolf Creek Golf Resort in Ponoka, Alberta for the 2025 MJT Junior Worlds Qualifier presented by Edge School. Known for its demanding layout and unpredictable early spring weather, Wolf Creek didn’t disappoint. Despite tough conditions, our athletes demonstrated determination and competitive focus:

  • Grace Murphy placed 7th in the 16–19 Girls Division with rounds of 86 and 90 for a total score of 176.

  • Tristan Howes finished 17th in the Juvenile Boys Division with consistent rounds of 80 and 82, totaling 162.

We are proud of both players for competing with such resilience in cold, windy conditions—a true test of their early-season form and mental toughness.

Most recently, four of our athletes traveled to Swift Current, Saskatchewan for the 2025 MJT adidas Golf Series at Elmwood Golf Club, a three-day major event that brought with it some of the most difficult weather yet: heavy rain, high winds, and cold temperatures. In spite of the challenges, our team delivered some outstanding performances:

  • Grace Murphy continued her strong run with a 6th place finish in the 15–19 Girls Division with a score of 264 (83,93,88).

  • Mason Kuryvial placed 8th in the Bantam Boys Division with a score of 253 (83, 89, 81).

  • Tristan Howes impressed again, finishing 7th in the Juvenile Boys Division with a total of 230 (74, 78, 78).

  • Lyndon Kuryvial battled through the tough conditions to finish 16th in the Junior Boys Division with a total score of 242 (82, 86, 74).

These tournaments highlighted not only the skill of our players, but their grit, adaptability, and strong work ethic—qualities that form the foundation of our academy’s training and values.

We are incredibly proud of the progress and poise our athletes have shown so far this season and are excited for what lies ahead. A heartfelt thank you to the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, Wolf Creek Golf Resort, and Elmwood Golf Club for continuing to provide elite competitive experiences for junior golfers across the country.

The summer schedule is just heating up—and we’ll be ready every step of the way. Stay tuned for more updates and highlights from the fairways.
